If a human contortionist were subjected to what this nugget has encountered, well, it wouldn't be a very healthy situation. Fortunately, gold is maluable. It can bend, twist, stretch, and distort from its original shape and to extremes in doing so while still remaining a beautiful piece of gold!

Point of interest: The most famous contortionist who ever lived was Daniel Browning Smith. Born in 1979, Smith was an accomplished man in various fields,
plus he held seven Guiness World records as a contortonist.
As you can tell upon close examination, this was at one time a much longer, flatter, blade-like piece of gold,
but under a mountain of rocky unstable conditions and over thousands of years,
its been folded double and even triple at a couple of points. Never to stretch again... The result is this somewhat thicker gold nugget with a highly desirable finish which sparkles and gleams.
