This is a nugget of unexpected form due to its non-typical,

and most pleasant character. 

Leaning toward the wonky – you’ll find it to be artfully askew!

 In describing gold nuggets, I find that people tend naturally

to refer to a specific character or critter. 

 Here, I tend to see a flop-eared hound in a sitting position

with head erect in cartoon-like animation - a lyrical and pleasing image! 

As to specific detail – a large base, or body,

with two tiny hollows that allow light passage. 

This base tapers up to a neck-like feature

topped off with a head and extended flopping ears! 

It’s all highlighted in a spectacularly golden and dimpled finish.

A charming gold nugget containing well over a gram

of a most entertaining arrangement 

of the world’s most precious base element.  

Oh, and an extra point to note – this perky pup, although thin,

 will sit up in an alert position when placed on a flat, stable surface!
