....We were out in the middle of nowhere along a lonely old two-track road.....I was having a Shasta and a sandwich while my "bride" was changing out the flat tire... From out of God knows where, a funny looking hybrid vehicle appeared, and stopped.  A monster of a man unfolded himself and got out, asking if I was o.k....  I said I had everything under control, glancing over towards my wife....With his powerful accent, he asked what I was doing "way out there" and told me I couldn't park there.  So I showed him what we'd found just a little earlier.  That's the moment when I did let one fella see these three beautiful pieces of gold...  Yes, I was showing off for just a moment!  He was a big mean Russian guy.  He said "bolshoy zolotoy samorodoks!"  I asked what that meant.  He said "big gold nuggets"!   I said "oh".  He wanted to know where I got them.  I told him  "I can't tell you - that might be colluding...."  He leaned forward and in a menacing manner asked me again "where did you get them?"   I said "way back in those mountains ( I was pointing)."   He glared at me and said again,  "where?"  I responded, " Well ah, "Thirsty Fish Canyon" .  He growled "what do you mean - why there's no water any place in those hills."  I said, "Yah! Those fish are really thirsty..."After another glare which almost made me wince, he crunched back into his leaning little vehicle and whined off down the road into, I suppose, nothingness...
