This is a beautifully strange gold nugget    

 with a surface texture that nearly defies description! 

Pitted, lunar scaped, veiny, cratered –

all fitting terms and many more can be applied, if you put your mind to it! 

Somewhat thin and spread out, this piece still retains a chunky form and presents good heft!

 It reminds this writer of a Sasquatch track with the big toe missing! 

On the under (flatter) side, there can be found

 several tiny dark gray quartz crystals that sweetly add to the charm of this piece! 

What an exciting gold discovery this is!!
